Ive personally used it on a warped flange that had nearly 1/8" gap on one end (didnt have time to have the manifold surfaced) and it never leaked.

I'm curious as to why the fitment is so tight on those pipes...

I would be interested in the long term durability on an idi of the rutland product, having use it in the chimney sweep business it dont like heavy vibration( aka earth quake damage) seems ok on boilers that don't vibrate heavily.
But for $12 worth a shot?!

If you think about it, if the parts are moving as one piece (which they should), I wouldn't think it would fail

I used it on all of my up-pipe connections on my 093 install over the weekend. So far, no leaks but I did have an issue for a few miles where some of it broke loose and ended up stuck in the turbine wheel and it sounded like a straight piped 6.0 with a "whistle tune"... Lol

Turbo was SCREAMING loud... even at idle it sounded like a jet engine through the stack. It broke loose and the sound went away after a bit so be careful of how much you use. Lol

id rather drop my guy off a 20 and have him flare a piece of aluminum for me.
cleaner, and re-useable.
i spent alot of time paying attention to detail, im not about to take a tube of goo and **** it into place.

last time i did that i got twins out of the deal.

sleep? whats sleep?

In your case, I wouldnt either. My up-pipes fit together nicely with no gap but we've been fighting a buddies 093 kit for leaks and I didnt want the same BS with mine.

I'd say copper or aluminum would work well.

I have a friend in AZ that is building one for a couple of years now, he had it all done, then he decided to put a bronco shell on the back , so he could open up the whole truck , like a suburban and use the back window in a similar fashion. the only thing I don't understand why he doesn't change out the gas hoggin 460 with a diesel. this is on a lifted 4x4. he did not change the wheelbase.

haing done this, and built a 4 dr bronco, i can tell you he has his work cut out for him.
this truck fits my needs perfectly.
i will be building a bronco bed for this one day,
the entire wheel well has to be moved, and lots of work.
but i want it separate for animals and luggage.
i dont want my yellow lab giving me a new interior.

this wont be my last rodeo ;Sweet

ended up using a spare exhaust pipe with the flare,
trimmed the flare off, and inserted it inbetween both cast pieces, NO LEAKS!

went to change the rear tasil shaft seal, and noticed i forgot to install the damn speedo gear lol
think both issues are solved, going to go for a test drive.

no more trans leaks!
but im only getting 6 psi out of that 093,
EGT's have never went above 900.
im eager to see what it will do up a grade, but shes not ready for freeway life just yet.

she feels solid! nice to have my truck back!
now im debating on either building a new bed, or just going ahead with the bronco deal.

I know you took care of the up-pipe leak, but is there any chance of leaks elsewhere, either on the exhaust or the intake side?

I guess you can't really know until you get her up to freeway speeds, but I'm looking forward to seeing how the steering feels ;Sweet
