You're making great progress on this! I've seen projects take years to get to the same point that yours is at in a week or two. Keep it up!

Technically it's been 3 days. We cut my 87 up on Saturday.
I can't take all of the credit. I had a crew help me on this project. Without them it would have taken me along time.
Now it's all on me. Tomorrow I'll finish the floor bracing and weld the floor up. Don't need to worry about warpage there :D

It's amazing the difference a body can make. Even if it's just hold this or hand me that. Progress is tough to come by when you are working all by yourself. None the less, you have certainly taken the bull by the horns on this one. Not wasting any time.

it helps that most of my friends are really into custom cars also, at one point we had 3 people around vital parts of the cab passing the torch around and everyone layin a bead lol
nothin better than a group of your closest frfiends getting together creating somthing like this!
im not stopping until this project is done.
unfortunately i have to wait till the 5th to get the new windsheild installed as we cracked itduring all the shuffeling.
but it was already cracked, so, oah well...
tinted glass on the way! now thats the date this project has to be done by!

I'm wondering who gets to buy the 87 yards of fabric for the custom headliner?

Seriously though, friends can make or break a project like this. It's hard to move a cab by yourself. Keep up the good work! This isn't your first time doing work of this nature I can tell. I like the way you are cutting and seaming everything together in staggered intervals throughout the cab. Really shows a firm grasp of the right way to do things.

DINGDINGDING, looks like you're the winner! welll thats mighty nice of you to step up and provide the fabric for my truck!:sly

i actually had an idea about this lastnight, as my woman just purchased a new set of sheets for the bed, she bought blue flanel plad.
we never use the secondary sheet they come with. i think this may be the ticket! some fermica, and spray glue! DIY on the cheap side!
this is just a thought, i need to redo the entire interior, but for now it will look like an old truck. as long as i get some insulation in, ill be happy!

man, in a quandry right now, go get a couple more hours of shut eye, or work on the truck??!??
looks like the truck it is!

well as the sun hasnt shown its beautiful face yet, im not about to dig through the scrap pile in the dark for the little odds and ends i need to finish up some of the floor.
the old bracing i used for the extra CC i installed came in handy this morning to keep the floor off the frame so i dont get any rattle.
floor is preped, the back of it is welded, if i was to do this again, i would think about giving the body 3" of lift, altho i dispise body lifts.
and i would also take the entire cab off the frame, but thats a whole lot of work in itself.
maybe i should go spoon with the woman, and if her morning sickness isnt too bad, i could get a little fork!;Really

welding sheet metal is killing me!
weld for 3 min, and waking away for 20.
takes forever! but hopefully it wont warp too much!
my company ships alot of product at the end of the month, so in a mad dash to get things done
before we take a week off for christmas, is draggin down my truck building!
im trying to get one of my friends to come over and work on it so i can worry about business.
also give him some extra coin for christmas, as he has a fab shop and no customers today.
this morning i did get the rear tank installed, i needed a mount for the bottom sheild,
so i used a spare cross member i had layin in the scrap pile.
some say this is a 38 gallon tank, but my e-searches say its a 22 gallon tank,
id prefer to have a larger tank, but reality is that if it is a 22 gallon tank, it will suit me just fine.
it does seem pretty huge.

now i gotta address the sender and see which one will work for me.
i will probally delete the gas in tank pump and extend the pick up.
now to get the fuel gauge to read right and delete the switch!

Your fuel tank and skid plate are factory parts from a bronco. Which means depending on the year it came from its either a 32 or 33 gallon tank.

even if i pulled it out of a 89 F350?

Floor is all welded in, i still need to grind it, and patch in a few spots after i reinforce the floor bracing.
also theres a hole next to the rear e-brake cable mount that i tried to stay away from.

Yup the skid plate and fact that it's narrower gives it away. If you post some dimensions I'll check them against one of my broncos, but I'm 99% sure it is.
Merry Christmas

took the windsheild out today to make sure i didnt have any "supprises" when i had the new one installed...
all good to go!
still going to strip the rest of the glue, wire wheel, and them prime and paint.
the glue did have some gaps, maybe it was that, or these damned cab lights were leaking...
anyone know where to get new lights and seals?

Towcat may take the selector valve if you're just going to trash it.
Iirc, he's been "collecting" them. I could be wrong though.
