What is the difference in 2500 and 3500 front ends. Is it just a spacer or do they use complete different hub and bearings. Does someone make a bolt on spacer to put one ton wheels on the frontend of a 2500?

I once looked into converting a 2500 to a dually. The parts guy at a dealer told me that I would have to change a bunch of stuff in the frontend. I can't see any difference between the two, except for the spacer. You could buy a set of those from the parts department or probably from a salvage yard. www.performancewheel.com sells spacers (up to 4" I think) that MAY work on the front. You would also need spacers for the back. I believe the dually axle is actually wider.

So, can you remove the front spacers and run 2500 wheels on the front? This would allow wider tires up front.

I believe the 2500 and 3500 both use the Dana 60.
Does anyone know if you can remove the Hub spacers and use 2500 wheels on the front of a Dually?
