    Old iron show

There were a bunch of nice Cubs. There was a mini Massey that was the coolest thing ever, garden sized with a 4cyl diesel. And is there anything Crosley DIDN'T make? LOL I should have taken a pic of the main tractor area, like a packed parking lot only tractors.

    Old iron show

Indiana, just after Ft Atterbury. The one to go to is Portland Indiana, it takes over the whole town. Aug 26-30, Jay County Fairgrounds. Supposed to be one of the biggest around. There is an events calendar at smokstak.com near the bottom of the forums, always something going on. ;Sweet

    Old iron show

Finally made it to my first old iron show. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fA0D2NK7vH4 And I just found a guy about 2mi from the farm with a 20-25hp for sale in his front yard along with a bunch of 3-10hp engines. My heirs are so screwed. LOL

    Got Lister?

Bilge pump is for the muffler. The muffler is half a water heater tank buried under ground. It gets full of water when the ground is wet. So darn flat out there nothing drains.

    Got Lister?

The P/O had already cleaned it out, painted the case inside, polished the crank, and replaced the bearings. I have squared up the rocker faces, resurfaced the pump lifters, and lots of other tid bits. You're supposed to pull the cover and get everything oiled up before you start it for the...

    Tire shaving? Homemade?

I just guessed and put 6 in but a couple still wouldn't smooth out so I dropped a couple more in. If you have more than needed the extras go to opposite sides of the tire perpendicular to the imbalance so they cancel eachother out. I guess too many would be enough to keep them from freely...

    Tire shaving? Homemade?

I haven't seen any wear from the golf balls in the tire. Actually the balls get worn smooth. The sound of all the balls falling to the bottom when you come to a stop blends right in with the sound of swampers on the street. LOL No I wouldn't do this to my radial M/S street tires but the bias ply...

    Tire shaving? Homemade?

I toss 6-8 golf balls in my 36" Swamper bias ply on beadlocks. It keeps them surprisingly tame. I think if you try to true up and balance those things they'll be all out of wack in a week. Walmart has used golf balls by the bag too. :D

    used engine oil for fuel

In2 and Oldbull  I've actually quit putting WMO in my truck. It all goes to my stationary diesel generator tank now. That thing would probably run on peanut butter if you could get it through the supply lines. LOL

    used engine oil for fuel

I used a cartrige type filter with a 1micron element from McMaster Carr. Some pvc fittings from HD, a shutoff valve on the outlet, and the biggest funnel I could find epoxied to the inlet elbow. Comes out at a small stream at best so if you want to do more than your average oil change you may...

    Got Lister?

Finally got it running today! :Thumbs Up This was an interesting challenge indeed. I'll be taking care of some minor details tomorrow and shoot some video. Here it is sitting on it's slab: Yea, that is a Chevy small block water pump. :) More pics and stuff here...

    Got Lister?

Got it home last night. Check out the military filter he gave me too! I have lots of learning to do but I'm going to love every minute of it. :D

Filtered WMO and probably heating oil if I can't scavenge anything else.

    Got Lister?

If things go smoothly tomorrow morning I'm on my way to pick up this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=270268418532&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=017 :peelout Building a sound control room at the shop with a "ground" muffler right out side and indoor/outdoor radiator...

    10.25 rear, long or short

I bought everything except the slinger at Randys and the driveshaft bolted right up, caps were the same. Both sizes are available according to Randys. I went through the different u-joint thing when replacing the yoke on my ZF. The F350 with DRW/crew cab long bed used the bigger u-joint...

    10.25 rear, long or short

The short ones had a problem coming loose. The long is an upgrade. Here's a shot showing the difference when I did mine: Mine came loose and I know a few others here have had it happen to them too. And yes you will need a yoke to match. I also had to get an oil slinger for mine, don't...

    winter plug in alternative

I would check with Bulldog security. I'm pretty sure the deluxe versions have a feature that fires up the engine for a few minutes every hour or so when the temps get low.

All that work and he used rigid steel lines connected to a floating caliper. And compression fittings. He's in for a surprise.
