    Found this on another forum. Wrap both wires coming out of the back of the alternator with aluminum foil. It worked. Also ordered a BD-Power Dodge APPS Noise Isolator for a more permanent fix.

    I've had 3 diesels in the past 3 yrs. They have all needed starters. This is the first for this truck. It's had a slow death for the last 3 weeks, grinding and clicking itself to death. Hot batteries, good cables, new alternator.

    Jimbob, in an effort to avoid that highly irritated state I would be in from dropping the tank, I'm gonna try this first. I already have an opening in the bed, under a 150 lb gooseneck plate, which is only 1 step below the irritation level of dropping the tank. I have 3 inches of screen here...

    I'm 17 miles from the nearest red-light. The last time I ran out of fuel was at an intersection a mile from home. I had 2 offers to pull me home and another guy stopped and helped me bleed the lines. It's nice living in the country!

    Three inches of rubber fuel line. I plan to take it back out and add about 4 inches of stainless screen, cylindrical shaped, clamped to the hose end.     Since it only does it on the rear tank, can I assume that it is sucking air between the rear tank and the tank switch? I just got out from under it and that line is dry as a bone. Shouldn't it be wet somewhere?
