Right, but if the main shaft is broken from the steel parts expanding faster than the alum case from the hot wvo contacting the steel parts first; the IP is toast and time for a new IP.
For me, removing the fuel screw cover, the little triangle cover on the passenger side of the pump is easier...
Agreed about fuel, but sense he can't get fuel from the hard lines it sounds like the main shaft is broke and not pumping/ injecting fuel to the injectors?
On the passenger side of the IP there is a triangle shaped cover, under it is the main shaft & rotor. take the top bolt for the cover out & loosen the bottom to move the cover out of the way.
Some fuel will spill, have a friend turn the engine over with the starter, & if the main shaft doesn't...
SORRY about that, I had some computer problem when I posted his post first, & on my end it didn't load to the forum. So I posted again thinking this post was lost.
I couldn't delete the post.
Sorry it bothered you.
Barking doesn't you anywhere.
All the F-superdutys that I have seen from this truck's era had leafs springs, if there ones with coils, I'd love to see pics, because coils ride better.
thanks Jason
Question, Do you think it front leafs are the factory 2x4 leafs or 1 ton 4x4 ?
I am converting a 2x4 to 4x4 and was thinking about reusing the factory front leafs.
thanks Jason
bought it!
lockout to lockout, with steering links, & mounting pads $500
Might redrill hubs & rotors to 8x6.5" pattern, I'll have to look at the how much metal is there to redrill.
Yes you will need to reclock it. I got mine at pick n pull for $25 & it had the rebuilder tags on it. Nice and shining, probilibly less than 3 month old.
I don't know if it will help but, I have a 95 taurus alt on mine. 8.25" case, was a sepentine belt on the car. I removed the pulley & ground the 3 ribs down some so that the v-pulley would clear. I think the difference is the lenght of the rotor shaft but don't hold me to it.
Best upgrade that...
On mine I had to grind the 3 ribs behind the pulleys down for clearance, a spacer wouldn't work. rotor spindle is too short on mine.
Wired like the preveiced post showed.
