I cooked them on the side burner on the grill. Blasted them very carefully. Need fine screen in the bottom. Dropped one and had to go fishing. Not cool.

Note to self, dont use a non-stick pot. More on that later.

Should have quit while I was ahead.

New one on the way. [emoji35][emoji35][emoji35]

At least it was a $10 mistake and not $100.

Lower steering column bearing retainer. I pulled the bearing thinking I would change the bearing, got the wrong bearing, cleaned and regreased bearing, pressed bearing back in and broke it.

I'm really proud of the pedals. The tractor supply flat black with hardener is just about perfect for interior parts as far as color and shine.

Time to get in gear. I got the new bearing retainer in.

And then promptly broke it too. [emoji35][emoji35][emoji35][emoji35][emoji35][emoji35]

Okay, it's got to be operator error. What am I doing wrong. So I screw with the pieces and realize there is no way in hell it can work the way I was trying to put it together. Flip the bearing over and ding! It all fits. So stupid tax paid...again... and another new one is on the way.

In the mean time I've almost got my coolant filter mount/water manifold done. It will serve dual duty and be the water plumbing for the turbo.

Still deciding on plumbing but I think I'll run hard lines to the filter housing which will have nice little shutoff valves in it once I find them in my pile of stuff again. The housing bolts through the manifold which will plumb the turbo in series with the heater core and the filter in parallel (bypass). Basically you split the heater hoses in the middle to install it. I'll mount it off the fuel filter bracket. Trying to decide if I'll paint it or anodize it. Not sure yet.

So hopefully tomorrow I'll get the floor scuffed and primed ready for bed liner. Fingers crossed.

You have probably stated this in your build thread here someplace, but what turbo are you going to use?

Garrett GT3788. Same turbo as the moose boost turbo. I was going to buy one from Mel and had one fall in my lap way too reasonably priced. It's never been used.

Well, the sum total of my day was this.

You must be registered for see images attach

It took me a good 4 hours of solid scraping and chipping and wire wheeling to get all the sound deadener off the cab floor. That stuff was miserable to get off. Heat gun and scraper, wire wheel on grinder then thinner on a rag to clean it up.

Of course there were a couple unwanted surprises underneath. Nothing a little JB weld can't take care of. Nothing structural but a couple little holes in the metal over the bracing that was hiding under the mat. Since the raptor liner calls for acid etch primer over bare metal I think I'll hit any rusty spots with some old school rust eater and prime it to call it good. I'm going to trim some of the firewall sound insulation back to make sure I get to the seam where I shaved the pinch seam in the trans tunnel. Fingers crossed for tomorrow.

Nice work on the pan. I'm really excited to hear about the raptor liner.
Oh, and that turbo is going to be sweet!

Forgot to take a picture, but the floor is prepped and ready to be masked off, wiped down and primed. Supposed to be really cold next few days but should be warm enough over next weekend to shoot the primer and liner. Damn there's a lot of floor there.
