Intermittent wire connection (not ground, per Laserjock below) on pyro?

Ford rotary resistors for dimmer control are notorious for crapping out from carbon buildup on the spring. Jumpered it on my 'stang.

Glad you got your truck out from being retarded

Way to go BDCarillo! :hail
I knew it would only be a matter of time before the collective figured it out. :)
As pointed out tho, the timing is still out about 18 degrees. That is about 2 teeth out! Each tooth is about 6.8 degrees. It might be easier just to advance the timing gear 2 teeth. :dunno

Wow, I can hardly believe it ran that retarded. You will really be in for a treat when it gets timed up right.

Pyro is typically type k thermocouple. While it does have a +\-, there is no ground per se. Probably a loose wire. Should be yellow and red wire. Ironically the red wire is the negative. And it's special wire so of its broke, you shouldn't just put copper in its place. It won't read exactly right.

The function of how he adjusts the pump, being top of pump pushed to drivers side to advance vs top towards passengers is the only issue here.

Edit cb^^^^ this is my issue

You sure you weren't reading BTDC and ATDC backwards?

Having it at 7 ATDC and going toward the passenger side would decrease the number, as you observed... then going towards drivers side to 9 ATDC you observed it to be sluggish... which fits for retarded timing and normal operationwro

Edit cb yep that makes sense,,, cept I did not see any minus sign going driver.
wow.... now this is the first thing ive heard that opened my eyes wide open....

Damn sorry to hear that but Luckily these trucks are easy as pie to wrench on. So no big deal there. I bet it runs better at +2 than it did at-9 tho.:D
