wippers not working

Well went to go to work this morning and it's raining like an ex of mine, CRAZY! wipers stopped working so had to head home and call-in. Does anyone know how to put the SOB on a toggle to keep it on high? I have the delay model and don't have time to get to the control box to re-solder the connections in there. just need a quick fix for now. It's a 1990 F250 7.3 and I love it but need to see when it's raining. HELP so I don't F any thing up.

It's likely your wiper motor. I had to replace one on one of my trucks last year. The switch is supposed to give you continuous wipers when rotated to the right and intermittent when rotated to the left. If you can't get to it right away, try Rainex on the windshield.

If you aren't too sensitive about being laughed at, open your wind wings and run a clothesline rope in a loop through the cab and attach the ends to the wiper arm. That might give you manual wipers, but I only saw a photo of this, never done it myself.

Thanks for the idea but I'm not to sure it's the motor. Is there a way to bench test. They started working, kind of again, but not good enough. They will wipe twice then cut out. I figured it was the control mod. that is under the dash because I read a thread that said the solder joint have a common prob. of cracking and need to be reattached, but maybe I'm over thinking it and should just go get a new motor. If all else fails, like you said, Rain-x. Thanks again and if you know what else might be causeing it Please let me know.

My motor went out the same way, they just stopped, then worked, then stopped, then worked a little, then stopped.......

If I remember right the motor only has 3 wires running to it, you could unplug the connector and check the voltage at the plug. Also, turn them on, when they stop tap on the electric motor with a hammer. If this makes it go then it is for sure the motor, but I'm almost positive it's your motor not the switch.

Thanks for your suggestions. It was the motor. She's fixed and works wonderfully. Thank god I didn't start a rewire job and listened to you guys and what you thought it was. I keep forgetting to go with the easiest and most probable fix. Thanks again guys.
