wanted a hood release cable

im in need of a hood cable for a 90 f250 with the thing that you pull to open.

Just cut the cable by the front fender, strip the coating off the end, make a loop and stick it out through your grill. I just had the same problem. And if you're concerned about it, what is under your hood that is readily available to steal without a heavy duty hoist?

I don't know about the pre-1992 body styles, but the 92-97 trucks can be opened pretty easily without using the cable. I am lazy and open mine from outside my truck all the time, you can actually reach in and actuate the release lever quite easily, but again this is on the newer body style. You might want to check it out now so you might be able to open your hood while you look for a replacement cable. Good luck.

thanks i got riged up to go though the grill right now. i found a ford discount store online and they only wonted 45 bones. i might try to find one at a junkyard

I have to do the same thing. Mine broke about the time you polsted this. But my problem is it stuck and wount let the hood close all the way.
