well as yall all know i have been in the progress of building my own turbo kit using a psd turbo, well i purchesd the turbo from punk, it included a few little things and the exaust collector, which i found out even that thing wouldnt work on an idi,;Sweet o well so i made my own collector that will fit on the idi, and it even still works the same as the one off the psd, they work like the hypermax turbos, each manifolds exaust enters into a different half of the exaust housing, later tonight if i find my camera i will post some pics, now the wierd thing, well this hole week im on spring break so i figured i would get this thing almost done this week, no such luck, last night it was almost 70 degrees when i went to bed, and for the past few days the been calling for flurries for today and tommarrow, well i wake up this morning and flip the news on and they are calling for 3 inches of snow between today and tomarrow:eek: its april 4,2009, why is it friekin snowing in middle tennessee when it was 70 degrees the other day-cuss i just cant bring my self to go out and lay in an inch of snow to make my up pipes, o and did i metion i only have just a little over 260$ in this hole thing;Sweet and i really dont think there is anything else i need, well an egt gauge i need that, i no for sure mine dont work now, it wont even go below 300 degrees now, even when it set over night, anyone got one they want to sell? sorry for such a long paragraph, but i havent updated in a while and i wanted to let everyone know i havent gave up on it.

thats cool i want to see pics, im sorry for not getting back to you sooner but i cant find that up-pipe i thought i had, i guess someone needed it more then i did. so are you going with a smaller exhaust housing for that turbo or are you sticking with stock? i would suggest the smaller one for that turbo but to each his own. also where are you putting it? also if the budget allows i would really suggest a 3" body lift. my trk has a 3" body lift and i can almost hug my engine. just beat the firewall seam flat with the firewall and your good to go.

i will post some pics soon when the snow lets off and its ok you couldnt find the up pipe sixe out, i finally decided on 2 1/4 pipe, im on a pretty tight budget right now i will probly go back later and change some things when i get the money, as far as changing the exaust housing, im not going to, the a/r on the exaust side is .84, and on the intake is 1.00 just found that out a few weeks ago when i got looking at the tubo, i think it will work well for me, i am mounting it at the back of the engine right behind the intake inlet, yes its a tight fit, and i did have to bend a few spots in my firewall to fit it, cause the intake side of the turbos are huge! i would love a body lift but not enough money to spare right now.

what year turbo is it? i have never heard of a psd having such a small exhaust housing. most i have seen is like 1.10 or something. the aftermarket smaller housings are 1.00. just curious what year turbo that is?. i bought a 3" body lift and all they are is spacers. better just to make your own. i did have to extend my steering shaft. all i did was remove the bottom half and see how much longer it needed to be, then i cut it in half and tapped some small rollbar tubing on each end and welded it. it is strong and i dont worry about it. even with my 37"s

the turbo if a wastegated turbo from a 99-03 7.3 psd, it has 1.00 a/r castinto the intake side of the turbo, and .84 a/r cast into the exaust side.

I just did a body lift on my truck this weekend. I bought a 3" from Summit Racing Equip. It cost me $81 after shipping. I think factoring in ones time that is cheaper than building the lift. And it comes with the steering extension, front bumper lift brackets, and Fan shroud brackets to keep the shroud properly oriented to the fan. It was pretty easy and now I have tons of room around the engine. I am gonna put in a 4"down pipe. When I did my exhaust I had to keep an 18" long 3" dp because of clearance issues but now those are no longer an issue. They all say not for diesel application because the body will hit the Driver Side head, I forgot about that until I was done and noticed My cab was hung up on the head. A little creative cutting and bending with my air chisel and now Have plenty of room. Anyhow It will prove to be invaluable to me because of all the room around the engine now.

ok today at work i worked on another powerstroke and i found the up-pipe i thought i had, in someone elses bay. this is from a 97 f250 so the 99 up might be a little different. this up pipe was 1 7/8 outside diam. i know that seems small, but it is the factory pipe size.

well i took a wild guess at it when i made the collector, and i need to post another pic of it tommarow caue i changed it a little, but it starts as 2 1/4 and necks down to 1 7/8 then runs into the turbo, and i have 2 1/4 up pipes so maybe it will work good i hope.
