Well the new used turbo performed very nice for a little while and the boost would peak at around 17psi with full throttle. Unfortunately it was short lived and now the tranny will shift hard again and with no boost to speak of.
I'm thinking that after 20 years sitting the turbo oil feed like could be plugged or starving the turbos causing them to quit after a few weeks of DD use.
Also, we didn't remove the oxidizer and replace it with a straight pipe yet so I was wondering if that could be causing this as well.
While we already got a replacement turbo and plan to fill the feed line with diesel to remove any sludge that could be there I was thinking if we should get a turbo rebuild kit as well, would this one work for a 87 300TD?
Thanks in advance.
