Turbo 7.3 powerstorke to the 7.3 idi

I wanting to know if the trubo set up on a powerstorke will work on a idi

It won’t bolt on, but it can be made to work if you can build a turbo kit from scratch. I’ve run a tp38 on a truck and a few guys here have as well. They are cheap durable turbos but the reverse rotation makes them a bit of pita. If you want to upgrade the turbo on your idi, I can take them and machine them for larger billet wheels to out perform that power stroke turbo, and save you the headache of custom fitting everything.

Trust me the custom fitting truly is a PITA. Please please don't make the mistake I did and put on too large of a turbo. Hours and hours of customization for NADA. Trust Thewespaul he won't steer you wrong.

I have a hypermax on my truck an from what I've deleted with on a factory turbo which is very limited yes they are similar in the fact that they sit straight not crooked in the back of the motor I know there is more different but others will have to expand on that

That is correct, the hypermax is a conventional rotation turbo, and uses pretty much the same basic CHRA as the factory turbos. What makes the hypermax different from the others is the "pulse" design with the up pipe noodles and the oversized exhaust housing to match

Yep, the factory turbo trucks have a cast y pipe and a single up pipe, which is why it sits kinda off to the side

Is thist the same gtp38 off of the 99 psd?

The gtp38 is a different turbo but shares some parts with the tp38, the obs turbos are more sought after overall
