So this is only half a idi question, maybe 25%.
While scouring Craigslist the other night I came upon an ad for a T19 out of a 4x4 diesel (year not listed).. What I'm curious about is, is this at all close really to a T18? My F150 that was my grandfathers is the only truck I have that I could ever forsee purchasing spare for ahead of time as its in really good shape and has much sentimental value.
It has a T18 4 speed, and is hooked to what I believe is a bw1356 transfer case. Both of which are totally fine, not even 50k original miles on the truck but it's closing in on it. The guy is only asking for 100$ and just wants rid of it, and should it be something that could be swapped if the T18 were to ever croak I think I'd pick it up. Probably wouldn't ever need it but still.
I tried my googling best but there's not much online for the T18 really to see the differences, I just know the thing seems way too low geared and torque centric for a short box 150 mated to a 300-6, but it sure does make it fun to drive.
