Transfer Cases?

I wonder if we could compile a list of transfer cases that appeared in the Bullnose, Bricknose and OBS trucks, maybe arranged by truck model

I'm not sure if they did, but I think Ford used the NP203, the NP205, and after looking at the forums here, the BW1356; but what if any others did they use? My 95 F-150 Supercab long box has a push button engagement, was that one of those listed? I know the NP205 isn't a notoriously strong transfer case, but is that what they used for the push button actuation?

I dont know exact years, but starting with bullnose. Np208, bw1345 (not sure if brick got the 1345. Bricknose bw1356. Obs (aeronose) bw1356, 96/97 heavy duty trucks bw4407. They will all interchange bolt up wise. Np208 is slip yoke output. Bw 1345 is fixed yoke. Bw 1356 is slipyoke except for broncos. They are fixed. Diesel bw1356 had (not sure if always) pto output. Bw4407 is fixed output.

So, not to sound like a COMPLETE moron, what would the differences be between the pick up 1356 and the Bronco 1356?

The fixed-yoke variants for the Broncos use a front style CV yoke on the rear... different from the pickup one.

There's also (allegedly) a push-button version of the 4407 (96-97).

I think the best all around is the 1356. I have seen high hp drag trucks doing boosted launches and no tc problems with the 1356. The 4407 is stronger and trouble free but only 2 year production so rare. Mine went 300,000 miles before I freshened it up for prevention. Really didn’t need anything. For my 91, it has the 1356 with rear slip yoke. Id actually like to put a bronco 1356 in it so the slip yoke will then be in the driveline. As it is if you break something in the rear drivetrain you can’t limp home without a rear driveline, no way to keep the oil in the transfer case.
