Traded my 92 that I got recently for an 84 ext cab 4x4, t-19. Im pretty excited about it as i have always liked the 6.9 over the 7.3 anyways. Its a low mileage truck with little rust.
All original, not abused. Another project I guess;Sweet

Its gonna need the usual before I start driving it..return lines, lift pump, belts, hoses, fluids, get rid of factory water seperator and i'll do a head retorque.

LOL im on dial up internet that is slower than most dial up. It takes about 3 min just to load oilburner home page haha.
I'll see if I can find one of those new fangled high speed internet cafes and go that route for the pics. give me time though.

Anyways I plan on parting out my 1990 for it in the next 6 months as the body on the 90 is getting too bad to deal with (nearly 400,000miles). The motor obviously has many parts that I could interchange. New parts. I would save a lot more money doing this that I would ever gain by selling the 1990. And all kind of little goodies throughout the 90 that I could swap over.

One question. Are the axles the same in a bricknose vs slantnose? I have a sterling 10.25 (I think) and dana 50 in my 90. The dana is fully rebuilt and ther is big money tied up in it. Rear end is flawless, wisper quiet even after all those miles. both trucks have 3.55's

My truck originally had a 460, C6, Dana 60 rear. I bought a 89 F250 with a 7.3, ZF5, Sterling 10.25 and ended up swapping the entire drive train over except for the transfer case. Front dana 50 will bolt right in, and it's a good time to do polyurethane spring bushings and pivot bushings. Rear end will change out just fine too; only issue I had was a new ******* sized U-joint to mate the stock C6-sized driveline to the new sterling rear end. But your 84 probably has a Dana 70 under it, so it might not be an issue.

Oh good to know!.. Thanks Bike-maker!
How about rads? I have a lifetime warrenty alluminum rad in my 90 as well as 2 spare bricknose rads. Ah hell, if they don't fit; I'll fab something up so they do. Got a lot of cash tied up in the rads to.

I think it will depend on whether or not the truck(s) has factory installed AC. The AC equipped trucks use a tall/narrow radiator, and the non AC use a short/wide radiator. It's really easy to tell by looking at them. The tall one sticks up clear past the top of the core support, the short one doesn't.

You're right bike-maker! Its a non ac model and upon a closer look the rads are quite different. Oh well, it looks fine and appears clean as I glance in.

Just noticed that the left had threads on the the Dana 70 LR wheel have been swapped out for regular threads;Sweet

A few other things that I will be doing to it is a road draft tube mod, headlight relay mod and later maybe a manual fuel tank switcher and pickup tube mod. Oh and an an exhaust thats a bit more free flowing that the factory 1/12'' hahah

The glow plug controller was recently replaced so I don't think I will be rigging up a manual setup just yet, as I normally would. I expect this controller to be good for a while.

OH and it has the original stanadyne water seperator on the firewall and it don't leak :dunno

I asked the PO if he had any issues with it and he looked at me wierd and said "no". It won't be on here much longer however. I'll put a Racor 120A or a delphi on it somewhere.

Im running my 84 full time now, yes I will still get a pic of it one day. Anyways its been running like a song, even though the temp gauge always reads very hot, the temp sensor is *****. and the motor is running nice and cool; I can place my hand on it easily when fully warmed up and it may even be a bit cooler than other idis that I have had. so im not worried about the gauge and will put an aftermarket on on when I drain eventually drain my coolant to replace all hoses, t-stat etc. But the rad always feels quite hotcookoo its full of coolant and the fan and clutch are working well and the rad isn't blocked off with bugs, dirt etc. the hoses don't pressurize too much, just a little which seems normal with every idi that I have had.

Just seems odd that its the rad is hotter than my other idis but the motor seems a bit cooller if anything.
