The transmission shop confirmed my theory on my nasty transmission noise. He said the torqueconverters use a PLASTIC washer inside to keep metal parts from rubbing. When the get hot they can melt! Mine got HOT a few months ago while I was stuck in the 2 feet of snow infront of my house. I was told that ALL converters use plastic, even the HD billet cover one I had him replace 40,000mi ago.
Does anyone know for sure if there is a converter out there w/o the plastic washers? I have been thinking about a triple disk converter, but they only make them for the strokers. What HD converters have you guys used, or reccomend?
