Torque grind cam

I have the specs on the 6.9/7.3 torque grind cam and as soon as I figure out how to copy them I will post here. The copy ***** feature doesnt work on bmp images.

Russ, upload the file somewhere (Imageshack, Supermotors, Cardomain, whatever) then just post a link to it. What improvements are we looking at with this grind, compared to the stock one?

I didnt compare in mine because I built the engine for the swap from a 460. But my buddy has the exact truck and when we go camping I pull harder at lower rpm than him ,about 200rpm, we are geared, pumped and loaded within 500 lbs, I am heavier and when he rides with me he is amazed.

Interesting... care to share where you obtained a cam with this grind, and how much should we expect to pay for the same pleasure?

My cost is 175.00 exchange. They have gone up about 25 since I did my engine, It is from a cam grinder I have used for years for my vw stuff. They give me 15%off so I am passing it along, dont know what the core will be, maybe we need to find some old cams.

Ah, so these are made by re-grinding stock cams? Those shouldn't be too hard to find, there's usually at least one in my local U-Pull-It. How involved is a cam swap on these engines? Looking at the front of mine, it don't seem like fun at all!

Also, will these cams pull better than stock without a turbo as well, or just forced-induction benefits from them?

Hmm....is anyone running one of these cams? what are the performance numbers compared to stock?

They designed this cam for NA applications originally for the logging community and they have good results.

I wonder if they would be willing to do a turbo cam grind. Thats a good price for a cam.

These are the original cam specs.Top of ramp.
intake lift is 0.2535
exhaust lift is 0.25308
intake opens at 17.2 Degress BTDC
intake closes at 42.8 degrees ABDC
exhaust opens at 51.2 degrees BBDC
exhaust closes at 20.8 degrees ATDC

That is a good price for a cam. Is there some serioius interest here, say maybe Russ could get us some built. I know i have one sitting at home in a parts motor, could probably scrounge up one more plus the one in my pickup. If it makes a difference like you say I'd be up for getting one.

I have it in my engine with turbo and it pulls really well, about 200 rpm lower than my buddys truck which is almost identical.

hmmmm... are the cams the same in a 6.9 and 7.3? i would like or two of those possibly, so the price would be $170, right?..
