I sure would give Brians Truck Shop (BTS) a call. See what they have. I'm using their triple disc converter and its great. Also Sun Coast Trans in Florida may have something to your likeing. Might also ask towcat who he uses too. Hes not to far from you either. Just don't tell him I sent you that direction....:D:angel:

So, warmblood, did you narrow your trans issues down to the TC? Last I recall, you did a dance of futility with St Helena Ford.

Mind sharing the status of your trans, for those of us following it? Thx.

At this point, it seems likely that my TC died based upon two trans specialists both listening and evaluating, but still a 50/50 proposition - I do not believe that the aluminum cages failed as the sump did not reveal this and, may not have had aluminum to begin with - need to double check '94 e40D specs . . . I just need a better than stock TC to use as I believe the stock Ford unit to be weak - billet style better, but not 2 or three disc, just a single disc unit - thanks for your interest!

A stock single disc converter has 25 square inches of friction material and they work very well for a long time. A triple disc converter like mine has 150 square inches of friction matyerial. How long will mine last. I guess it depends on heat and load and care given to proper maintance. I really don't feel I wil be needeing another one in my lifetime. Hopefully thats saying plenty.

94 E4OD had aluminum carriers on all gear sets unless it had been rebuilt with aftermarket components.
