While trying to troubleshoot my miss and white/blue smoke I pushed in the advance plunger on the drivers side of the ip, and nothing happened. I seem to remember that it should stall or speed up or something? Is my ip worn out or is it just my memory? thanks in advance for any advice. Scott P.s.- its a 87 6.9

Depending on where the timing is at you may not notice any changes with out a timing meter hooked up.

well, I think I need a new ip. any recommendations on who to buy from? I think I'll put in new injectors too. Maybe a lift pump and return line kit while I'm at it just to make sure. does anyone sell all of these as a package? Thanks for the help-this site is great! Scott;Sweet

Switch to an electric pump if your going to swap out your lift pump. It's a worthy upgrade.
