Got my engine out, but....

Missed the sweet spot on my chain by a link or two... engine stayed VERY level. After jacking up front of engine to get oil pan onto the crossmember, the engine slid back inward (TWICE!), resulting in the balancer landing on the crossmember with a pretty decent hit, each time.....

Hoping I haven't damaged the front end of the crankshaft?

Pulley's fine. The hits were on the underside of the balancer only. The engine's weight was supported by the hoist, so it was just more like "swivel weight," as the engine returned to level.

Didn't dent the sheetmetal crossmember, actually.

The pic was before I got the oil pan up onto the crossmember, just for reference. The engine MUST tilt backward to come out.

This was my first solo attempt at an engine pull. My buddy does it way better.

Don't try this at home, kids! LOL

Wow what a job. Glad you have it out. I don't feel you bent the crank end. Probably the sound of the hit made more of an inpack on you than the actual hit made on the crank or dampner.
