thoughts on pluging in the rig

i don't see why it would matter. i have my timer plugged into the wall, then the cord to the truck. go a max of 10 ft' with mine.

I had to buy an industrial cord thats 50 feet long- it then feeds the Liberty, Jetta TDI and an IDI heater. Never had a problem with the heavy gauge cords. The timer is in the garage.

Ok, this cord is 12 ga cord. In that case i will leave the timer at the house.

Good call, easier to get to in case you need to make adjustments and less likely to run it over Electrically its not going to make a big difference. The #12 fine strand cord is a better wire than what is used to wire your house, It will take 25 amps, no problem Good for the length you're running.
