Tank capacity

On my last fuel up i managed to put 20 gallons in the front tank.... Capacities 18 isn't it?
If so is there any thing that could be going on other than diesel going back and forth between tanks?

Different years had different size tanks. My 93' has a 22 gallon front tank. Shower head is broke off and I run out at 1/4 tank. If I fill up close to 1/4 tank it takes around 17 gallons.

my 89 f250 4x4 has a 19 gallon plastic front tank, 19 rear, so you can count on at lrast a gallon in the filler neck if you nursed it to the top

The pump could be out of calibration.Either by accident or habibi is being greedy and charging you for fuel you didn't get.
