Her dad let you take her to prom in an old van????

I am skipping my college graduation this weekend as well. No reason to sit there for 4-5 hours and not even get the diploma until a month or two later.

Well I just gave the truck a 2hr bath so it looks decent for prom. No one at my school believes that I'm driving it but I wouldn't drive anything else.

Here's some pics let me know what you think.

Hopefully you don't NEED that liftgate to get her in the truck?

Haha - just kidding.

I actually did take a big girl to my prom. I didn't even really like her. I asked her good looking friend, who said "NO." Then, she asked me - and I couldn't say no. At least couldn't figure out a way to say no.

Luckily, I had been talking to a girl in the city, who went to an all girls Catholic school. She was good looking. I don't want to say hot because my wife sometimes reads these posts. Crap.... Oh, well. She was hot.

Anyway, her prom was a few weeks after mine, and she asked me to go to hers. I was much more grateful the second time, but we'd been out on a few dates by then, so it wasn't unusual. She knew I liked her. Those were the first, second, and last times I was ever asked out by a girl.

Am I the only one that ever got in a funny spot because a girl asked ME out??

I hope not.....

I don't know how I pulled it off, but her dad really likes me. That, plus the fact that I was driving 300+ miles to go to said prom and was a broke college kid at the time (actually, much like now ;)), and he understood. Her mom, OTOH... that's another story unto itself...

No, actually...the van was literally my only choice (couldn't take my mom's car, and all of my girlfriend's parents' cars were/are junkers). Besides, that wooden bench can hardly be called a "bed"...and, even if it was, it wasn't used as such.
