Hello fellow oilburners;

unfortunately my ZF5 took a turn for the worst on my 88 F350 7.3. And I am now having problems finding a good used tranny up here in BC. I have contemplated switching to a automatic. Is there a tranny that bolts up to the 7.3 with ease.
Is there anyone out there that has done the conversion? Thanks for the advice.

"With ease" would be a C6, but you would lose the overdrive you have now. "A lot less ease" would be an E4OD, which would give you overdrive.

I'd look into having a good used diesel ZF5 shipped in.

getting it fixed for 2500 seems a bit ridiculous when I could buy one for 1500 off of ebay. unfortunately the shipping really jacks up the price. Can any of you recommend transmission places in washington or oregon I can take a drive to one weekend.
