ok i know there are 2 different starters for the IDI.my 94 needs a starter again for the 6th time in 2 years.i pulled a starter from an 87 f250.it is different from mine.mine looks like a normal starter and the 87 has an ofsett motor.wich one is the better one?im gonna use the one i got anyways cuz it was free but i want to get the good one next time.

only shows the nose of it.ill NEVER buy another napa starter again.im on number 6 now :mad: -cuss

I'm very happy with it and he gives a year warranty no hassle. You deffinetly want to go with the gear reduction high torque.

The second starter you show on ebay is for a powerstroke. Different tooth count.

You have an IDI not a stroke don't you? If yours is an IDI than yes the 87 starter will be fine. If you have a stroke than your going to need a stroke starter.

its an IDI but the starter in it is identical to the PSD starter.

what you got from the 87 is what is in my 1991. It is the original starter, although it did get new brushes and holders a few years back.
