Good Morning Ya'll.
My 90 IDI with less than 20K miles on the engine stalls if you let up on the throttle like you would normal driving, if you ease it up it won't stall. Idle is at 750 RPM, timing at 7 degrees, gotta up that.
Stalls on throttle let up.

Do you have a turbo? My parts truck with a nonwastegated turbo if i am really hammering down on the throttle and let off abruptly will almost stall; I figured it was something with the turbo maybe pushing too much air for the amount of fuel. Not sure though

Just a WAG, but that sounds like a stuck metering valve in the IP. I'd say do the old fill the filter with ATF/Diesel Kleen, run it for 30 seconds, then let it sit overnight. That often clears it.

My blue truck did that for a day. Two bottles of power service (one in each tank) and a new fuel filter filled with ATF and ran 20 seconds, then shutdown over night fixed it...
When I drained the old filter it was soupy brown mudfuel that came out right after filling up at the neighborhood Valero.
No more Valero fuel for me...

No turbo, but it's been setting for quite a while, start and let it run til the temp comes up, about every other week.
Murphy has arrived from Nova Scotia Canada. What's his name sent him.
99 quit running, needs injectors and UVCH both sides.
92 dead batteries, developed a GV oil leak.
90 Stalls.
OK, will do the ATF in the IP. Can drive it, but a PIA to do it.
Note to myself: Remember Bill, ease up on the go peddle so it don't stall turning into the driveway, so you don't hit the Daughters Van again, no engine = no brakes--no steering.

I agree with most of the above. It sounds very much like a stuck metering valve in the IP. Not driving it much will do that. Do the ATF in the IP (by way of the fuel filter) trick. That should straighten it out.

my original E codes were the cause of this on my engine.i swapped out to reman BB codes (remember that U-Haul close out! couldn't say no to $8.60 each reman delphi BB's!!!! ) and it fixed what ailed her.smoothed her out,cleared up extra white startup smoke,and no more stall on decel.
she's starting to run rough on quick decel again.so i ordered up some new this time,G codes.
iv got the reman U-haul ip too,and im not sure i think much of these things.i think they sat too long.but who knows,it might be fine and just the injectors again.
anyway.i dosed mine hard with HOWES and no change.FE is down and performance too.im suspecting injectors again,though im ordering the turbo IP too for complete,matched tuneup.these fuel prices are killer.can't afford to run a even slightly de-tuned engine these days.
