Been looking for a while and finally got one. This one was intended for the Olds 5.7 and GM 6.2 diesels, but the 5.7 lumosity probe seems to work fine for the 6.9. The other probe doesn't show any wear at all, but I can use that for my dad's 6.5. The mag pickup does have some wear on the end, but that seems to come with the territory. If it ever fails, I could probably build a new one.
Anyway, I had enough time this afternoon to try it out and it seems to work well. A bit wobbly at idle, but fairly steady at 1400 RPM. Both switches are also touchy, so I might crack it open to see if I can clean up the contacts.
So...does anyone have the proper procedure for this unit on a 6.9 IDI? It came with instructions but they are all intended for GM IDI's of the 1980s.
