Smoke coming from defrost vents in dash

Thank you to everyone that answered my call for help, this website is the real deal!

I have pulled the glove box and the plastic cover for the heater core. She's dead as a doorknob :cool: here's some pictures I took tonight. I think this should fix my coolant leak and my foggy windshield problem too. I did find a bird wing, some straw and what not inside. She was probably cooking that stuff up too when the coolant got hot. Any advice would be helpful for installation or the correct part number. Or jut tips. Thanks again oil burners!

I bought this heater core today at napa auto, it isn't exactly like the original. Maybe they updated it? If anyone knows any info on what part to use and not use let me know.

It also came with this sticky insolation tape...not sure where it goes....

That should be the right one the old one Is copper and brass and looks a little different than the new aluminium ones. I just changed mine out last year. that insulation is to wrap around the outside of the core for a sealed fit into the air box . You can kinda see the old core has it around as well
