Well its time for a transmission fluid service so I thought that when I have the pan off, I would change the filter and install a shift improver kit. I got the one made by BCM from Advance Auto Parts. Anybody install a kit on a C6 before or know anything about this particular shift kit? Also, the new filter comes with a gasket and I have some silicone RTV. Should I use just the gasket, the gasket plus the RTV or just the rtv when resealing the transmisson pan. Also, before I drop the pan I am going to run the motor with the cooler hose off the radiator so I can pump all the fluid out and flush it with 2 qts of clean ATF. I will then drop the pan, add the shift kit and reseal, refill with 6qts of fresh ATF and be on my way. At least that's the plan. It worked fro ARGVE and the Enterprise. If its good enough for an E4OD, I assume its good enough for a C6. Thanks for any input y'all might have,
J.D.

Sounds like a good plan. Document the install if you can. It would make a nice article. ;Sweet I didn't install a shift kit when I redid the C6 in the Moosestang, but I did do a 3rd gear clutch upgrade. I'll be curious to see how you feel the shift kit works. As for the gasket and RTV, I only used a gasket and have been chasing a leak ever since the rebuild. I've yet to figure out where it's coming from, since the pan is always covered with ATF. -cuss

Any time I've changed fluid & filter on a trans I use a light coating of RTV with the gasket and have good luck. Just let the RTV set up a couple minutes 1st.

I remember reading the fluid flush article by argve. Where was it at? Is it in tech articles.

Shift kit install would be a good article for Tech section. I've got the Recal Pro kit from Bauman to install in my E40D. I'll try to put an article together when I do that one.

But, I'm so slow getting things done due to my schedule, you yung'uns may be using a cane to get around on by then!!LOL LOL LOL

Thanks guys, it doesn't look like there is much documentation on this. I'll do the best I can. Tukerd, the Baugman computer sounds like the best solution for teh E4OD at least according to Okie ******. The C6 is much simpler but as you know no OD, so as with most things in life its a tradeoff. Hopefully I won't screw something up,
J.D.
