Been driving semi trucks for 35 years. 1st one I drove on the hwy was a 5/4 twin stick. I actually miss those. They kept you awake, that's for sure. Most of the time, except for hills, you skipped 2-3 gears each shift. If you didn't know where you were or where you were going with the next shift, S.O.L.

I hear ya... My personal fav was the 13sp overdrive roadranger. Plenty ratio's if you needed them, & real easy to skip a bunch when not needed.
