Even though the thought of giving free advice to a #24 fan... makes me :puke: The best seal to use is a factory one from Ford. I replaced mine with a cheepo auto parts store seal and it still leaked. I replaced it with a NOS one from Ford and that fixed it. Some times cheeper isn't better. Go #6 (one last time) ;Sweet

Don't tell me this! In person, w/ axle tag and truck, I ordered the rear seal. Showed it to John yesterday and he asked what it was for...Ended up flying down to Advanced and buying the right size one yesterday when we pulled the axle and hub.

Try cleaning up the sealing surfaces with some fine emery cloth, and packing the seal with grease.

My gasser did this too. It took three tries and finally I got a good seal. The first try, I just slapped the new seal in. The second try, I cleaned the sealing surface, but obviously, not well enough.
