Seems cross frame support at the firewall is an issue on obs trucks around my year, think this could be related to that? If not, what is down there that could be loose?

Hmm.
Make sure the downpipe isn't touching the firewall anywhere. I know that'll cause a ruckus.

It does not seem to be touching anywhere. Literally, it seems to be that piece I am tapping in my video and something below it as well. I don't see what holds in that louvered piece at all to tighten it, maybe under the windshield, going to poke around more tomorrow. too late tonight, too much work this week.

thanks for all the advice.

Oh. Just now saw the video.
Still check on the downpipe.
Have you checked to see if all the screws are in place on the cowl?

All the bolts on the cowl are tight across the width of the car, just that one corner that is making that noise... is there a spacer or shim that is supposed to be in the corner that it butts up against when tightened in? the passenger side is fine...
