I get to pull the trans, Transfer Case, and GV tomorrow, I have had some vibrations coming from the Torque Converter area for a little while and it looks like the Torque Converter to Spacer Adapter bolts are backing out. The bummer is that I cant get to them without pullin the trans.

So we are putting it on the lift tomorrow at 8 AM, unbolting everything, and sliding it all back a few inches to get to the bolts. Then well check it out and go from there.

Shoud be a lotta fun,....

What kind of nuts and bolts did you use??? The stock E4OD torque converter nuts are a jam type fine thread. I know you had a custom flexplate designed so maybe those bolts and nuts were used up or not grade 7 and above. The jam nut is the most important part of it... Or clean what you have (if they are in good shape and not showing signs of rubbing contact) and use Blue Loctite...

Probably as much fun as fixing a leaking rear main or replacing sheared flywheel bolts.

Probablly not THAT much fun,... at least I got to do it in my own shop, and in my own home town. ;Sweet

I was able to use the stock Ford bolts, on the C6 converter, They are the high grade with the shoulder on them.

We got it done today, started at about 8:30 and had it back in by Noon, So not a bad job.

The bolts were coming loose but not bad enough to do any damage, It looks like I caught it in time. We removed the Spacer Ring and inspected all looked good, so we got it reinstalled with blue Loc Tite, and torqued them to 35 ftlb, twice.

Now I just have to find an alternator pully and I can actually drive it again,..;Sweet

Here are some pics,...

Oh man, MAJOR flashback. Lets just say I didn't have a hoist to help me when I swapped out the C6 for an E4OD. Had to do it several times because of mistakes I made when I put the E4OD together.
