My wipers (90 f350) started growling and refusing to return to the park position. The intermitent wipers also are eratic. Sometimes they only move half an arc with each cycle. These problems came on gradually with the park and int. Wiper actually showing up first.

What I have already done.
1. Replaced the windshield wiper motor with a rebuilt one.

2. Replaced the Intermetant Wiper Contorl box.

3. Tried extra ground from intermetant wiper mount.

Now the wipers are quiet, however still no park and eratic intermitant wipers. Does anybody know what to do next.

Thanks in advance.

Hopefully you still have your old wiper-motor.

Contrary to popular belief, they are really quite simple, with very few moving parts.

To dis-assemble, you will need to drill out a few rivets.

These will need be replaced with small/short bolts/nuts.

Inside, you will find three motor brushes.

CLEAN the brush-ways and make sure they snap and slide freely, VERY FREELY.

Actually, sticking motor brushes are cause of ninety-nine percent of failed motors and burnt-out switches.

Your NEW REBUILT motor probably just needs the brushes freed up.

Mine was doing the same thing and it was the ground on the wiper switch. The switch has a pig tail that must be grounded for the wipers to work and park correctly. Mine was just hanging there. Screwed it to the dash - problem solved.
