Hello Everyone, this is my first post on OilBurners and I have a question to anyone who is willing to help. Two days ago I bought a 1985 Ford F250 6.9idi with the 4speed manual transmission it is my dream truck! Sadly the power windows do not work so I want to replace them with manual windows, if someone could list the parts I need that would be great! - Thanks, Daniel

Hit up your local salvage yards and you should be able to find everything you need hopefully all in one door if not a couple doors. I believe f150 would have the same window/door parts as an f250/350.
I would think the hardest part is finding 2 matching door panels more so than the internal hard wear.
If you want all new stuff rock auto should have everything you need. I personally haven't removed one from my truck but I'm pretty sure the window track and gearing are all one piece. I could be wrong.

Welcome to the forum! The window track is seperate. You're looking at less than $100 for new/reman window motors which would be about the same price as converting them. Drill out the factory rivets holding the regulator plate to the door and replace with short bolts and nylock nuts once the new motors are in place. Then you don't have to worry about finding new panels and can enjoy the control from the driver's seat!

Thank you for responding! I think that I am going to go to the junkyard and pick out the parts I need to do the conversion because I want hand cranks.

I've found that the electric windows and locks on these old ford trucks are pretty durable and the parts are pretty cheap to boot, but I understand wanting something just because, lol. I mean I buy 30 year old diesel cars, trucks and tractors I don't need all the time, lol.

So if I am understanding this correctly the only things I need to do this swap is manual window regulators, the crank handles, and new door panels?

Haha i'm glad i'm not the only one that gets that same feeling!

yeah your not alone.i wish my '68 t-bird came with crank windows instead of power windows.the switches are very expensive to replace and id rather have cranks anyway.problem is,only so many of these cars made and then only so many left, and then only so many left that came with crank windows and then only so many left with crank windows which are not in a good car lmao.so good luck to me.:D

what's nice about these trucks is that there are sooooooooo many of them around, that you can get whatever you want.....might need to have parts shipped but you can find anything.so go with what you want.;Sweet

Be sure to save the regulators and door panels. Post them for sale in the Marketplace section of the forum. Get some extra cash help some poor fella out that needs electric window parts.

Okay, I just bought two new doors with crank windows that have the same interior color as my truck (Red). I have not done the switch yet and I do not get home from school tell next month so that is when I was planning on doing it. If you want the parts and door panels I am sure we can figure a price (or trade) out. I want you to know since I just bought the truck I have know idea why the power windows do not work and because I wanted crank windows I didn't check to see what the problem was.

Daniel, that works for me, I'm about to be in the middle of a move, so whenever you have the time is fine with me.

I asked my dad if he could look inside the door panels to make sure everything is there, I am worried all the wires and switches may be gone because that was how the windshield wipers, radio, and all of the other electronics in the truck were when I bought it. I will respond as soon as he gets back to me.
