Does anyone know the RPM for best torque on a '91 7.3?

Best HP?

I assume the engine needs to run at its peak torque RPM for best towing? Or is it the peak HP RPM?

i think peak torque is around 2000 and peak hp is around 3000. Travis or Jon will tell you what the enterprise was.

Published stats are great but there are variables you will induce that will change your particular situation. Items like rearend ratio, type of trailer towed, and even something as simple as tire pressure will throw all "theories" out the window.
Run the truck at what's comfortable/legal for you and be done with it. There are just some things you just can analyze to death.

I pretty much knew before I had The E dyno'd what was the peak torque rpm because when pulling a hill she would just want to settle in at around 2400~2600 rpm which as it turned out on the dyno sheet that the peak torque was right there in 4th gear (which is what I drove down the highway)...

You'll get the feel for her and then just run those rpms... It's not rocket science my man...
