Just thought it would be interesting to find out:
How many vehicles donated their parts to make your truck what it is today?
I know others, like me, have scavenged parts out of multiple other vehicles to get their rig into it's current condition.
I've been referring to my truck as "Frank" lately; short for Frankenstien, due to the fact that the only original pieces of the truck are pretty much the cab, front clip, and frame rails. The rest consists of pieces and parts from various other vehicles.
I tallied it up the other night, and have come to the conclusion that my truck consists of parts off of 19 different Ford vehicles.
I'm sure there's others out there that have even more.

I'd have to go out to my truck and look it over for a week to remember what part came from where LOL

But I'd guess it's over 15, mainly a lot of small parts.

I can see that number jumping quite a bit over the next few years though.

Let me see...

Sheet metal is all original, but courtesy of desert sand-blasting, living on the coast for 4 years (those two things together = enough rust to make my truck look like it's from the Rust Belt :( ), and sagging body mounts causing an interference between the pax door and the front quarter panel, its days are numbered.

Most of the engine's original...the turbo came from an unknown truck, the timing gear cover came from one of towcat's parts trucks, and the A/C compressor and power steering pump came off the same truck that Mel converted into the Moose-Tail, but I believe that everything else is either original or was purchased new/rebuilt (i.e. IP and injectors).

Tranny came out of one of towcat's F-450's.

Transfer case, axles, and frame are original.

Interior...the panel going around the instrument cluster came from the "Moose-Tail" truck and the panel around the radio and climate control came from a junkyard g@$ truck. The seats came from a Centurion truck that got parted out on here in 2006. The sunvisors came from Darrin's last truck, and the steering wheel came from a TDS member named Rory (I don't think he made the switch over here).

That's all I can think of from the top of my head...so, that's 8 trucks that have donated parts to either keep mine on the road or to improve her :D that number will be going up once my next project gets underway...

My diesel just has a extra pair of 10 lug rims from a salvage yard. So that means 2 different trucks.

Now my gasser project has parts from 10 different trucks ranging from 1954-1991.:D It's my little Frankenstein Truck. It's a 1954 F100/F250 4x4.

I should state for the record, regarding the truck in the last two pics in towcat's post...in addition to everything you see missing, the interior's thoroughly gutted. Most of the interior parts are sitting in my living room at the moment LOL and I just found out my landlord wants to come in on Wednesday...time to hide stuff

Original body and frame with 500 000 kilometers on it.

Transmission, pedals and clutch slave and master came from a 1997 FSuperduty.

Clutch (SMF) came from a 1990 F350 wrecker I think?

Front axle came from a 1992 F350 SRW 4x4.

Rear axle came from a 1990 DRW 2WD.

Winter rims came from a 1997 F250.

And I took Various parts off of 3 or 4 other trucks.

All in all, 9 trucks? Give or take one or two.
