NEWBIE needs E4od help

I have read alot of the threads before posting this issue, some are similar problems and I am following some steps,
but I have removed the big electrical connector on the passenger side of tranny and there is tranny fluid in the connector, this cant be normal, is it ?

OD light stays on continuously, does not blink, with shift lever in drive, it acts like it starts in 3rd gear, I can manually put shifter into first gear and it will go, other threads lead me to believe it's a solenoid pack
