bin reading here for a while now and fixing my 94 7.3 idi with a banks turbo for a while now and enjoy my truck

...But now i have a problem the turbo has a lot of play in it and is in need of replacment i am looking to upgrade it now and keep the boost down till i can get to rebuild the spare i have with lower compression and studs then turn it up alittlemore

Any sugestions?

7.3 dont blow gaskets as easy as a 6.9 so you don't have to worry... Studs were just released for the 7.3 from ARP

If the housing hasn't been hit then the turbo may be salvageable with a new center section. A new turbo with wastegate can change the boosting so that it's lower for your current engine, then adjust the wg for new engine for higher boost. Hope that made sense as im on my phone:puke:

yes but i have been looking for info on what turbo they used on a sidwinder kit cant see the tag unless it comes off and i am currentlly driving it still.

Would like to turn it up to around 18-20 psi but be reliable to so studs it will be i whant to have litlle lag as possiable but a lot of tork cause it is so fun to drive a diesel!

My Banks had a misubishi turbo on it , couldnt find any one on here with a kit to rebuld it. banks wanted to sell you anew one $$$$! Found a kit on ebay from a guy in Utah. The parts all looked good havent put it on the truck yet. Ill see if i canfind his adress if you do have a misubishi . ED
