need some advice on power!!

ok so all my buddies got 7.3 psd's and they make fun of my truck for not being as stout as theirs and not being chipped up and ****. well what can i do to make my idi have more torque?? only thing ive done is cut out the soup bowl, rig up a cool air intake, and open up the exhaust. im not sure how much these n/a trucks can make or what there supposed to have stock but my truck can burnout until i shift out of second gear? is this pretty good or weak for these trucks? also im not sure where the nearest dyno is but im trying to find one to see what kind of numbers this truck has. thanks any advice appreciated!

First of all you need to know the fuel system... Like how many miles are on the pump and injectors. Then you need to know what the timing is. So, lets say you have a great pump and injectors.... Still want more hp... Then its turbo time. When a turbo is installed more air is forced into the motor. That allows more fuel to be burned so more hp is found. A 4 inch straight pipe is a good idea too. No muffler. Aturbo will kill the exhaust sound very well... Untill you really get on it like when your pulling a grade loaded... Then all motors sound louder because they are working... Adding more air by the boost will help you find hp. You can add propane,nitros or water methonel injection. Just depends on how far you want to go. The psd guys will always make more easy hp than the idi motor but.... Look at how easy it is to work on our motor. We don't need to lift a valve cover to replace an injector or glow plug. A complete set of BB injectors for us will cost the same as one psd injector. We can fix our motors so easy on the side of the road... Can't say that about an electronic motor like the big three are pushing on us... And we get much better fuel mileage than they do....

as far as i know its all stock?? supposed to be getting it time tuesday but the guy is charging $75 an hour!! he's the only one around here with a timing meter to do it! im gonna get it set at about 8.5-9.5 degrees according to how everyone elses is set. im trying to find a good cheap pyro so i can start turning it up. i dont want alot of smoke just when i hammer down on it. any thing else besides a turbo?

You will never be in the power game without a turbo. Install a turbo and you will think you have added another engine and have two under the hood.

turbo or headers, ip/injectors if they are tired, cam grind. propane and propane accessories

With a turbo you should be able to keep up with newer stuff.
Now if the newer stuff has a good chip and some new sticks.
Well ask for a head start. They won't be waiting to long for you at the burger joint.;p
