kick down rod delete

Hey yall, im getting mighty sick of my c6 dropping a gear passing and the whatnot on the road. I get great torque in third for what im doing then itl downshift thanks to that rod and im way outta my power curve. i adjusted the vacuum modulator and that helped, but every once in a while it still catches me.
any of you all just remove the thing?
