Key stuck in ignition

Well I got in my truck this evening and started it up. The key was already in the ignition. When I shut it off it would not turn back far enough to allow the key to come out. Asked my wife how long it's been like that (she's been using it around the farm) and she said about a week.

So what's it going to take to fix?

if it is still rotating, change out the cylinder.
the button locking the tumbler into the column can still be pushed in as long as the key is out of the lock position.

That doesn't sound too bad. Unfortunately I don't have another day off work until the 1st or possibly 8th of March. So I hope it doesn't get worse by then.

get the new one and you could probably change it out in the time it takes to drink 3 beer
