Hello all,

first off yall probably think I am stupid or something for all the questions I ask right???

well anywho I just installed a new ignition switch in my 1984 Ford F250 (it has an 83 Steering column in it) and the dash comes(gauges and what not) and the clock comes on, but when I go to start the engine the starter motor does not activate but it does when I hit the solenoid obviously this is an electrical problem I checked all my fuses and what not and even installed new ones, what could be the problem, also the horn stopped working too don't know if that has anything to do with it???? please help

thanks

There isn't such a thing as a stupid question, just stupid answers...

As for your problem. Im guessing with your horn not working is because its not getting the proper ground. Your saying if you jump over the motor under the hood it will start, but will not if you use the key?

Never mind sorry about that I got the problem fixed the ignition switch was not seated correctly and therefor it was not hitting the right contact to turn the motor
