I'm getting ready for a pretty substantial road trip in the old Ford, been talking to my insurance company about putting it under full coverage so I looked it up in at nadaguides.com to value it - they give the value a 20% decrease for an 86 f250 for having the diesel engine. I thought that was kind of funny - considering it seems like 90% of people you talk to overvalue things for having a diesel engine- but this truck actually 'books' for less than if it was a gasser.

Kind of a blow to the old oilburner ego...

Maybe because the gassers are rare compared to the diesels.

What I am saying is the diesels are cult classics and much harder to kill than a gasser. Bet if salses numbers of gassers and diesels are ratioed, there would be more diesels still on the road compared to gassers.
