Injector Return Lines seaping fuel everywhere, help :(

Hi everybody, first post here. I tried searching, but didn't find much on my problem.

I have a 94 F350, 7.3 IDI, factory Turbo, Crewcab, 4x4, E4OD, 240k+ miles...

My problem is the injector return lines are seaping fuel everywhere. I got some fuel from a station that had some percentage of biodiesel in it a few months ago. I'm thinking this may have been my problem.

2-3 years ago I took the truck to a local Cat shop and had an injector return kit put on and all the glow plug everything replaced also.

Is there a different grade of fuel line that they should have used? What about the rest of the injector return stuff, would it have been effected?

I used to do all of my own work, but a rearend accident limits my wrenching time considerably.

A few years ago I was running WVO in one tank during the summer with diesel in the other to start and stop on. I never had any problems with it that I noticed. I used to visit FordDiesel.com before the name changed, anyone know if they are still around? I have the injector timing and turbo bumped up a little, as per the FordDiesel guys...

I just talked with the Cat service guy, he said they have put lots of the injector return line kits on and haven't heard of any problems with any of them...

Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you dont. I just put a return line kit on my truck a few months ago(2k miles) and one of them is already leaking.

Ya gotta replace the return lines, caps, and o-rings on the injectors. ULSD has been blamed for some shortening of the service life of fuel related parts. Maybe......... maybe not. But if they are leaking, it's time to replace them.

Thanks for the quick replies. I thought I recognised some of the names when I was browsing stuff that came up in the search.

The guy at the Cat shop was wondering if the truck was sitting for most of the year, if that would help the hoses degrade faster. Should I use the spring type hose clamps that came in the kit or switch to some regular ones?
I used it last fall for hunting season, then it sat till July when I took a bunch of boys to scout camp. I started to smell fuel on the return trip and noticed the lines were all wet.

Those are some nice pics of your onboard air setup. I have a stock style compressor that I've been thinking of useing. Your double pulley from the PS pump looks like a better idea than trying to include it in the serpentine belt.

Its just as posted above. The return lines take a beating from the new fuels. The kits cost around $30.00 and really easy to install. Just do what you can with your limitations. I know I sure do... I almost die working all bent over reaching the back injectors.. Then I cover things up and take a nap... I mean break... Yeah.. Thats it... A break...

Even if you don't have a winch, those great big square winch bumpers are great for standing on to work on these things, especially if you are getting less nimble like I am.

I use NAPA fuel injection hose , its multi fuel compatable. and kinda pricy ,but it works. and viton Orings Make sure you lube the orings and cut the hose to the right length ED

Just get a kit from MWFI I have two on the shelf. I'm going to replace the cloth covered crap with a 3/16th SAE 30R9 hose when I need to do them next - that way ain't nothing going to harden or melt the damn things...
