I visit my International Parts guy for new olives/fuel line o-rings and I mention I wanted to check what injectors my 1988 F250 had. He printed me out a sheet for N/A 6.9 and 7.3's that called for C,D,E code injectors. G-codes are for turbo engines.
This still didn't answer my question so I called my local Ford parts guy and gave my VIN#. He can only give me a part # CMR5RM
I Google this number and get the below...
"M/C FUEL INJ. 7.3L IDI CMR5RM 88-92 E F250/350 C & D"
Does this confirm I have E code injectors or the C & D ?:dunno
I would like to put the code in that comes out.

I think the best way to see what you have, is to look at one of your injectors. It should have the letter stamped on one of the "flats". That way you'll know for sure.

yup right on a flat of the hex of every one, someone could have changed them before you, unless you are the original owner.

Yep I'm the original owner, they were never touched in 21 years...can I see the stamp without pulling one out?

no, it is on the hex that sits just above the head. where you would put a socket to take them out. i'll get you a pic
ok, so the pic sucks but you get the idea

Thanks Jacob...it just ticks me that I may get different code injectors then what I've had for 21 years.

Hmmm so this reply from Pensacola about what "code" injectors I would get didn't sit to well with me.
"they are all the same...they all supercede to BB code"
BB injectors are for 6.9 engines not 7.3's!
Tell me why I would be ok with 8-new BB injectors in a 7.3 ;Really

I really don't think its that critical. I think the most important part is that they are all the same & have close to the same pop pressure. If you had a new, matched set of D codes installed, dynoed it, and then installed a new matched set of BB codes, I doubt you'll even see a difference in performance. I think the dramatic difference that you hear of when people change their injectiors is from the fact that they now have NEW injectors insted of worn, 200k mile, injectors.
I guarentee that you'll never "feel" a difference in the different types of injectors. I put the G codes in mine and drove for 1000k + miles before adding the turbo. I noticed no difference except in the idle quality. I chalked that up to my high mile original injectors.
Keep in mind, this is just my opinion. I asked all the same (and more) questions about injectors before buying mine. There is no clear answer.

There must be a answer/difference or else they wouldn't have the different codes. :dunno
BB's were for 6.9's not 7.3's International must have done this for a reason.
I don't want no stinking BB's for my 7.3 ;Really
Guess I'll have to pull one of mine to see what the code is.

I completely agree - there must be some kind of difference. But I'll bet anything that you could install BB's or E codes and you wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

Keep asking - maybe you'll get a more definitive answer than I got. I think the problem is that no one REALLY knows - they just tell you "what they've heard".

I have not been able to get any straight answers about the injectors except that the pop pressures are different , and they code them accordingly. My inj guy's catalog supercedes all to E code except turbo the G code. I can guarantee you will never tell the difference between the E on down codes if the pressure and timing is set properly. Having seen the spray patterns during testing I can see no diff in the spray. G codes are higher pop and hence the timing is a bit retarded. I have done this part of the equation personally. As for the "no aftermarket "statement, you cant get new stanadyne or lucas anymore at all unless they are old stock. I have put about 10 sets of Delphi's in and have not had a problem. The reason they are selling BB codes is they probably have gobs of them that surfaced from old stock, Stanadyne doesnt make them anymore oonly E and G. This from the rep at the shop I get my FI done at.
