Hello all after cross threading the stop of my injector and cap i realized i could no longer get it to seal properly and cold not find a clear answer on hear about what to do except to get a new injector. So i decided to make a little post on what i found!
Seeing as the nears injector was days away i thought maybe me and my pea bodied brain could figure something out. so being a tool and die maker i have access to many taps and dies allowing me to re trace them. how ever online i could not get a clear injector thread size reading!!!
So after time with thread gauges and miscellaneous screws i finally have an answer. at the top of the injector where the cap mates on to it the sizes are M12x1.5 this is NOT the most common thread size. Now a 1-2/13 thread will sorta start however do not crank on it this will NOT fit.
while perusing around at napa i noticed they had the tap and die there themselves. well thats just me ranting and hope you learn from my mistakes!

Can't really help on the nut but the injector thread is the softer of the two pieces the nut being the harder of the two. You can use a knife edge file to clean up the damaged threads. At least I have done this. Next time please hand thread the nuts all the way down on the injector. Loosen the other end of the line at the pump if you can. It gives the line more movement sometimes. Might also remove the vibration clamps but please replace them. If they are not installed the lines vibrate to the point they break. Then you are in a pickle of a mess if that broken line is on the bottom of the pump. I can tell you the thread size of the injector body. Those large threads are a metric 24mm 2.0....
