I changed out my ICP sensor ('02 F-350 7.3L), started 'er up....and the CEL (check engine light) turned off without me doing anything.....no deleting it with any code reading device, or removing the battery cables or anything.....is this normal?...btw....truck's runnin' good so far.....

thanks jasper...I know, it seems like a dumb question, but I've seen many videos where to clear the CEL you have to delete it with a code reader. or remove the battery cables....thanks for your response....

It's likely stored in the computer memory even if the CEL light is off. I believe the ignition cycle thing will clear it from memory. That keeps the memory buffer from filling up and keeps the service techs from chasing old resolved problems.
