1995 Powerstroke Cold Start // No fast idle. 7.3 Turbo // Automatic E4OD F-Superduty.
New to me money hole in the asphalt. This one has a flat bed with dump on it so it has a purpose.
Tail lights blown fuse and I have no doubt the lights/wiring are shorted out. I have the parts to fix that just haven't gotten to it yet.
Neg battery cable at the terminal end was loose and a pita to start without jumping it. That problem has been fixed. Installed a new Glow Plug Relay (GPR) last night due to the volt gauge on the dash not coming up. Truck started last night, volt meter on the "N" of "Normal". I checked batt voltage with the DVOM and 14.6 volts +/- at the batteries. After it ran a few minutes, the voltmeter jumped to the "L" range of "Normal". I read somewhere a sticking GPR and figured I would toss one in there just to appease it. (Motorcraft) Didn't change anything with the dash gauge.
Starting this thing cold it does not bounce up the RPM on a cold engine.
Temp sensor in the water pump is a single wire green coded.
Any ideas? Suggestions??

Kinda in the wrong forum. Might want to ask in the power stock forum. This is a 6.9 and 7.3 idi forum 1994 and older

Kinda and somehow the other forum has less answers.
Currently I have 3 idi's and now this Powertoy.
If I don't get a response over here, I will toss the line over there.

Thank you for the response.

Single wire temp sensor is for the temp gauge on the dash. Ecm uses oil temp as engine temp.
What problems are you having?

Does the volt meter move with blower motor switch position?

On the powerstroke the glow plugs are still energized long after the wait to start light goes off. If I remember correctly depending on engine temperature, can be up to 240 seconds.

As for the high idle I do not remember if the obs powerstroke had that or not, im also not sure what temperature it has to be below for it to engage it.

I do know that for it to work on a superduty manual trans, the parking brake has to be set. The brake light on the dash has to be illuminated or it wont engage the high idle.

It also takes about 45 seconds running with the brake set on manual trans or in park on auto trans. If you touch the regular brake pedal it will disengage the high idle.
